What is wrong with your page head?
Paste the source of your page, or just the head section. Nothing is uploaded.
Paste a head section to check it. View source on your page and copy from <head> to </head>.
Which meta tags actually matter in 2026?
Title, description, canonical, viewport and robots. Those five decide whether a page can rank, how it looks in results, and whether it is treated as mobile friendly. Open Graph tags matter for how the link looks when shared. Meta keywords has done nothing for over a decade.
What happens if I have two canonical tags?
Search engines ignore both. A page that declares more than one canonical is giving contradictory instructions, so the signal is discarded entirely and the page is treated as having none. It happens most often when a theme adds one and an SEO plugin adds another.
Does a missing viewport tag really matter?
Yes. Without it a phone renders the page at desktop width and zooms out, which is the definition of not mobile friendly. It is one line and it is the single most common critical problem on older sites.
Why does my canonical need to be absolute?
A relative canonical is valid, but it resolves against the current URL, which means the same markup on http and https, or with and without www, declares different canonicals. An absolute URL removes the ambiguity.
