FAQ schema generator
Questions on one line, answers on the next. Copy the script tag and paste it into your page.
Add a question on one line and its answer on the next.
What does FAQ schema actually do?
It labels the questions and answers on your page so a search engine does not have to infer them from the prose. It is also one of the clearest signals an AI assistant has about what a page answers, which matters more than the rich result it used to produce.
Does FAQ schema still show rich results in Google?
Google narrowed FAQ rich results in 2023 to well-known government and health sites, so most pages no longer get the expandable result. The markup is still worth adding: it describes the page accurately for every other consumer of structured data, Bing included, and for assistants reading the page.
Can I mark up an answer that is not visible on the page?
No. The content has to be visible to the reader. Marking up an answer that only exists in the JSON-LD is a structured data violation and can get the markup ignored or the page penalised. Generate this from text that is genuinely on the page.
Where do I put the script tag?
Anywhere in the HTML, head or body. Most people put it in the head. If you use WordPress, an SEO plugin usually has a field for custom schema, or you can add it in the theme header.
