What is llms.txt?
A plain-text file at the root of your site, written in Markdown, describing what the site is and linking to the pages most worth reading. It was proposed so that a language model reaching your site gets a clean summary rather than parsing your navigation.
Does it affect whether AI assistants cite me?
No engine documents it as a ranking or citation factor, and anyone telling you it does is guessing. It costs one file to add and it cannot hurt. Clear pages that answer one question each matter considerably more.
